Communication Consulants is a forward-thinking, dynamic business started by Carl Richardson in August 2001. Carl believes in the old adage that "people deal with people" and supervises all projects personally, supported by his Service Level Agreement partners, currently (October 2008) consisting of over 200 people with a combined turnover in excess of £50m. |
Carl Richardson
Carl started his communications career back in 1984, working as an engineer in the North West of England. Like many at the time Carl saw there would be many opportunities arising out of the fledgling and newly liberalised telecommunications industry. After this 'hands on' beginning, Carl moved into an account management role supporting products from Ferranti, Plessey and National Telephone Systems across a wide spectrum of industry and commerce. |
|
In 1992 Carl joined DEC as senior sales executive where he remained for 8 years as the company developed into a major market force. Here he gained an intimate knowledge of complex applications and acquired certification in NEC, Siemens, Bosch, Fujitsui, GPT, ACC and Gandalf products.
In May 2000 Carl joined ttml based in the south of England and obtained Lucent Technology & Alcatel accreditation to expand on his comprehensive knowledge before moving into the market as an independent consultant.
Carl has been fortunate enough to develop many corporate and major account clients during his career; these include Manchester Airport Authority, Genrad, Paccar, Milliken, ERF plus several Government and College Campus solutions.
An accomplished account manager and engineer, Carl specialises in complex or multi-sited applications and brings to the table a vast amount of project management expertise. Coupled with his considerable "best of breed" Voice and Data know-how, he can provide an advice and appraisals service tailored to your needs. |

Dave Gladwinfield
Dave has been involved with the communications industry since 1983, when he joined a rapidly expanding organisation called IDC as a salesman tasked with upgrading old BT teleprinter 23’s to Siemens T1000 telex machines. Within 12 months he was the Sales and Training Manager and his love affair with the telecoms industry began.
In 1985 the market was blown wide open with the launch of Group 3 Facsimile machines and so Telecom UK was founded by a number of IDC managers with the specific intention of focussing on Fax Machine and Key System sales. Telecom UK was a major business partner of Philips, Panasonic and National Telephone Systems, competing with BT for SME business. |
 |
| After 3 very successful years as Dealer Principal, Dave was approached by Ferranti Business Systems to help launch the Rhapsody Key System into the UK Corporate Account market … an opportunity he felt was too good to miss!
Over the next nine years, as Ferranti became Securicor Telecom and Securicor Telecom became Samsung, his role developed to include Key/Corporate Accounts, the main focus as always being the development of highly technical network design with a strong emphasis of long term commercial strategy development. His customer base included The Employment Service, British Rail, Pearl Assurance and British Gas.
Prior to joining Communication Consultants he was the National Sales Manager for The Rocom Group’s Corporate Solutions Division. This gave him access to the Avaya range and the Siemens Realitis, products that gave him essential experience in the CRM/CTI environment. Key clients included Sports.com, ANC Group Logistics and Vauxhall Motors.
Corporate awareness features very highly in his approach to a solution with the emphasis being equally divided between a highly technical response and a sound commercial understanding of the key business drivers. Perhaps the strongest indicator of his corporate driven focus is that a major Government Department has chosen him to design a solution across 66 UK sites to enable them to meet the criteria identified in the “Implementing Electronic Government” initiative.
Recent successful contracts / tenders include Chevin Housing Group, Servista, Lake District National Park Authority, The Broads Authority, Peak District National Park Authority, Royal Sun Alliance and Snowdonia National Park Authority.
